Cyber bullying Assignment

1.) Done

2.a.) Quoted from the article. "Cyberbullying is when a child, preteen or teen is tormented, threatened, harassed, humiliated, embarrassed or otherwise targeted by another child, preteen or teen using the Internet, interactive and digital technologies or mobile phones. It has to have a minor on both sides, or at least have been instigated by a minor against another minor. Once adults become involved, it is plain and simple cyber-harassment or cyberstalking. Adult cyber-harassment or cyberstalking is never called cyberbullying."

b.) The kind of threat, the frequency of the threats, the source of the threats and the nature of the threats

c.) The first thing that I would do if I was stuck in a situation like this would be to tell someone that I trust for example: teacher, mother, brother. One thing that I would make sure I did before I blocked the cyber bully/ harasser is to save the chat log and gather all of the information that was passed along to me so that I have evidence. I would not want to retaliate because it could possibly make things worse.

d.) Everyone has different reasons as to why they cyber bully, most kids cyber bully each other because they are often motivated by anger, revenge or frustration. It is much easier to cyber bully with technology because they are not affected by the physical reaction of whom you are bullying over the internet.

e.) The two main categories of cyber bullying are cyber bullying by proxy and direct attacks.

f.) I think that Instant Messaging/Text Messaging Harassment, Internet Polling and Stealing passwords are the most serious types of cyber bullying.
